Address Downtown, the flagship hotel of Address Hotels + Resorts, is taking Earth Hour initiatives to a whole new level this March, combining educational efforts with environmental actions that will begin from Thursday, 28 March until Saturday, 30 March.
Aside to turning off the façade lights for one hour, between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday, 30 March, the team at Address Downtown will launch various activities to promote environmental sustainability and energy and water use efficiency.
Among the activities are turning off staff mobiles and computers for one hour, a tree planting ceremony for families and an in-house canape reception, with guests joining to watch the main skyscrapers turn off their lights in Downtown Dubai.
Lights in non-essential areas of the hotel will also be turned off or dimmed for an hour, including all main restaurants, walkways, lift lobbies and other public spaces. All water features at the main hotel entrance and poolside will also be turned off, in addition to the 44 fashion vitrines that line the hotel’s corridors.
On the culinary side, an organic collection of Earth Hour beverages will be launched to raise awareness at 63rd floor night lounge, NEOS. Aptly named ‘The Green Movement’ and ‘The Jessica Rabbit’, the health-conscious concoctions will be available over the Earth Hour weekend and will cost AED 70 per beverage.
The Restaurant at Address Downtown, will launch an Earth Hour vegan set menu, encouraging electrical car owners to visit and recharge their cars for free, while enjoying the AED 110 three course set menu. The vegan menu comprises playful dish interpretations including Rawsome Tart, Yammy Coconut and Ginger Soup, Baked Yams with Spiced Tofu, Sweet + Sour Bok Choy with Miso Noodles and homemade Coconut + Soya Panacotta.
