Crescent Enterprises and the newly rebranded environmental organisation Emirates Nature-WWF (formerly Emirates Wildlife Society-WWF), are stepping up their joint efforts to tackle pressing environmental concerns.

Marking the sixth anniversary of collaboration between the two entities, the initiative aims to prioritise conservation efforts in the attainment of development that is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.

Throughout the long-term partnership, Crescent Enterprises has contributed towards Emirates Nature-WWF’s achievements across several environmental initiatives, including a Hawksbill Turtle Project, which recorded, surveyed and tracked 75 turtles across the region. The ongoing results from this work could positively impact regional efforts to protect the endangered sea turtle. The two entities now look to intensify efforts to inform policies and plans to protect more key species.

Commenting on the partnership, Ghada Abdel Kader, Vice President of CE-Invests, a subsidiary of Crescent Enterprises, said, "We are proud to celebrate the sixth anniversary of this productive partnership that allowed us at Crescent Enterprises to contribute to the unique endeavours of Emirates Nature-WWF to conserve biodiversity and address pressing environmental concerns for the benefit of our nature and society."

In turn, Abdulla Al Nuaimi, Business Development and Marketing Director in Emirates Nature-WWF, said, "Emirates Nature-WWF works to look after our natural resources and assets – oceans, land, freshwater, wildlife and climate change here in the UAE. The long-standing support from Crescent Enterprises has helped us pursue these goals and initiate changes that could have a positive long-term impact on our economy and environment. We look forward to developing our partnership, as we continue to work together in building a prosperous future, in harmony with nature."

Both entities are working to address climate change through initiatives such as encouraging the uptake of electric vehicles and expanding the scope of business engagement to reduce their carbon footprint and implement renewable energy projects.
