The Arabia CSR Network, the Middle East’s leading training service provider and think tank, will hold a comprehensive training course titled ‘GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Standards for Sustainability Reporting’ in Dubai to help organizations align their business practices with long-term global sustainability goals and international society’s modern needs and expectations.

Set to take place from July 25 to 27, 2017 at the Millennium Plaza Hotel, the three-day training course will enable attendees to gain deeper understanding of the globally recognized GRI standards for sustainability reporting. Such relevant information will effectively guide them in terms of disclosing their performance in areas of environmental, social, and governance. A new set of GRI standards for sustainability reporting will be shared during the training course in which the content will be delivered through lectures, discussions, exercises, and case studies.

Habiba Al Marashi, President and CEO, Arabia CSR Network, said: “As GRI’s Certified Training Partner since 2011, we are the first in the region to introduce training courses based on the new GRI standards. This is the second course we are organizing under these new standards. We are excited to bring this course to Dubai where key stakeholders will gather to learn new ways to comply with set global CSR standards. This is a great opportunity for regional organizations to examine best practices and implement exceptional processes that will enable them to become better and more responsible companies.”

“Through this upcoming training, we are illustrating anew our commitment to propagate the latest knowledge and skills in the region to equip organizations here with the right competencies concerning CSR implementation. Developing regional CSR expertise and providing relevant training sessions are in alignment with our efforts to contribute to the ongoing shift of the UAE and the rest of the region to a knowledge- and innovation-driven economy.” Marashi added.

The Arabia CSR Network-led training comes amid intensified sustainability initiatives being rolled out in the UAE and the rest of the Middle Eastern nations as part of their contributions to the betterment of global society. It seeks to highlight the value and impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on overall business performance, in addition to giving participants an opportunity to learn the benefits of implementing relevant CSR programs.

It will also serve as a venue for introspection as the attendees will be able to establish how their companies view and practice corporate responsibility as part of being a responsible corporate citizen of the region.

Arabia CSR Network was the first accredited provider to conduct GRI training in UAE and the entire region. The learning outcomes of this training are expected to leverage the skills of the sustainability and strategy teams, while offering them the necessary knowledge of how to report in compliance with the new GRI standards.

The training will be of immense value to organizations currently using the GRI guidelines to report non-financial performance or those that are preparing their sustainability reports. It will be particularly beneficial for writing teams, sustainability professionals, consultants, and researchers, among others.
