Sahara Centre, Sharjah’s leading retail, leisure and entertainment destination, is paving the way for cleaner, greener transport in the UAE by becoming the first mall in Sharjah to install free electric vehicle charging points powered by Tesla.

The initiative reflects Sahara Centre’s commitment to enhancing its customer service and satisfaction by exploring new innovations and opportunities. The charging points are also part of the mall’s continuous efforts to adopt sustainable solutions and encourage its customers to care for the environment.

Owners of electric vehicles will be able to top up their batteries at no cost via the three new charging points, which are situated in both the mall and new extension car parks and can be accessed during Sahara Centre’s opening hours. The charging points can add up to 100km of range to electric vehicles per hour of charge and are reserved exclusively for zero-emission electric cars.

Sahara Centre is strategically located on the Dubai-Sharjah Highway and first opened its doors to customers in February 2002. The mall is home to an eclectic range of retail outlets with key anchor stores, including renowned brands, such as Adventureland, Babyshop, Debenhams, Emax, Fitness First, Novo Cinemas, Home Centre,  Marina Home, Matalan, Spinneys, Toys ‘R’ Us, Zara. Sahara Centre is open from 10am to 11pm on weekdays, 10am until 12 midnight on Thursdays and Saturdays, and 10am to 12pm and 1pm until 12 midnight on Fridays.
