"On the occasion of Earth Day, under the theme ‘Our Power, Our Planet,’ the Department of Energy continues to strengthen its regulatory role in developing a more efficient and responsive energy and water ecosystem. This is achieved through clear frameworks focused on improving operational performance and enhancing efficiency of resource use across various sectors, particularly in light of the rising consumption in vital sectors such as agriculture.

In this context, the Department relies on advanced digital solutions, foremost among them the AD.WE platform, which will enable a 20% reduction in energy consumption and a 30% reduction in water consumption. This is achieved through more precise demand management and the promotion of optimal resource utilization across the emirate.

The Department is also working on developing regulatory frameworks and policies that enable the adoption of innovative solutions, such as the solar self-supply policy. This allows individuals and entities to generate and store energy and contribute to meeting part of their daily needs, thereby improving load management efficiency, reducing pressure on the grid, and reinforcing more flexible and sustainable system models.

Through its regulatory role, the Department is committed to simplifying procedures, unifying technical requirements, and enhancing infrastructure readiness to enable the integration of these solutions into the grid, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and operational safety.

These efforts reflect a practical approach focused on translating policies into actionable applications by empowering consumers and improving resource efficiency, contributing to a sustainable impact that supports the Emirate’s aspirations for a more efficient, flexible, and sustainable system."
