Ashurst counsel, Mhairi Main Garcia, has been elected as Vice-Chair of the Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC) alongside Chair, H.E. Dr. Nasser Saidi.
CEBC is a non-profit association providing a forum for both private and public sector organisations participating in the clean energy sector across the MENA region. CEBC aims to establish a dialogue between the public and private sectors to drive the development of appropriate and much needed regulation and policy to support the development of clean energy.[1]

Mhairi is a member of Ashurst’s energy team, specialising in power and water projects including solar, wind and waste-to-energy projects. She has sat on the CEBC board for two years; during that time she has played a key role in a number of CEBC’s working groups and has represented CEBC at numerous large-scale renewable events and conferences across the UAE.

Commenting on her appointment, Mhairi said:

I am delighted to have been elected as Vice-Chair of CEBC and I am grateful for the support of the board.

It is a privilege to play a central role and be part of such an enthusiastic organisation which brings together key stakeholders in the renewables and clean energy sectors, particularly at a time where there are exciting developments across the MENA region.

I hope my work on renewables projects across the MENA region and my passion for driving forward the development of clean energy will mean I am well placed to support the CEBC and to contribute further to CEBC’s goals.

This appointment and Ashurst’s ongoing association with CEBC demonstrates the firm’s ongoing commitment to the renewables and clean energy sectors in the Middle East and globally.
