Energy leaders of the Japanese energy sector joined the momentum created across Asia by confirming a significant delegation and presence of Japanese energy companies at the upcoming 24th World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi from 9-12 September, the world’s most influential energy event.

The confirmation of participation of major Japanese energy companies, from major oil and gas companies, to utilities, innovation, and renewables in the World Energy Congress was achieved during a visit of a delegation of the Organizing Committee, headed by Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, Chair of the Organizing Committee of the World Energy Congress.

With the strong participation of Japanese energy entities, the Organizing Committee concludes a successful Asian business roadshow, achieving firm agreements of engagement of energy companies and energy leaders across the Republic of South Korea, China, and Japan to the World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi.

In Japan, the delegation met energy leaders from across the Japanese energy sector including Chiyoda Corporation, INPEX, JERA, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) and Tokyo Gas Company, trade bodies including FEPC, Japan Coal Energy Center, Japan Gas Association and the Petroleum Association of Japan, as well as the Institute of Energy Economics Japan (one of the world’s leading energy think tanks), and senior officials at the Japanese Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry (METI).

During the visit, a participation agreement was signed between the Chairman of the 24th WEC Organizing Committee and the President and CEO of the International Petroleum Exploration Company (INPEX), the largest oil & gas exploration and production company in Japan.

Dr Matar Al Neyadi, Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry and Chairman of the UAE Organising Committee for the 24th World Energy Congress, said “The 24th World Energy Congress is the perfect platform for the Japanese energy industry to showcase its cutting-edge technology and innovation in the energy sector.
