The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has announced the launch of the second phase of its Solar Energy Self-Supply Policy, expanding its scope to include the residential sector for the first time in Abu Dhabi.

DAMAC Properties, the largest private real estate developer in the UAE and the Middle East, has urged more than 300,000 residents staying across its communities and team members to participate in ‘Earth Hour 2026’. The annual sustainability initiative is part of a global movement highlighting the urgent need for climate awareness and energy conservation.

Earth Hour represents an annual milestone reaffirming that sustainability in Abu Dhabi is not merely an environmental commitment, but an integrated ecosystem powered by technology and innovation,ensuring security of supply, service reliability, and long-term resilience.

As the UAE continues to advance its sustainability agenda under its Net Zero 2050 strategic vision and responsible tourism initiatives, hotels across the country are increasingly integrating environmental responsibility into everyday operations. In line with the global observance of Earth Hour on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM local time, Al Habtoor Grand Resort, Autograph Collection reinforces its year-round commitment to sustainable hospitality through internationally recognised certifications, resource-efficient operations, and meaningful guest engagement initiatives designed to reduce environmental impact while enhancing the overall guest experience.

The Green Planet™ Dubai, the region’s only indoor rainforest, will participate in Earth Hour at 8:30 PM on Saturday, 28 March by switching off non-essential lights, in support of the global initiative.
