Disney Resorts are taking another significant step towards going green.
Disneyland resorts will get some green facelifts with new energy-saving light bulbs and low-flo toilets. With new energy-saving features, the company will both cut electricity costs and potentially draw more consumers with their green tactics.
The renovations will boast a variety of energy efficiency upgrades. There will be new occupancy sensors that control the lights in various rooms in addition to switching out incandescent light bulbs for new, eco-friendlier options. Additionally, Disney will use some low-energy fiber-optic lights to boost energy savings and simultaneously give visitors the illusion of fireworks in their rooms.
This is not Disney's first effort to go green; the Daily Tell reports that earlier this year, Disney helped "save all the lion kings" by giving a huge donation to an international conservation effort.
While Disney emphasizes a long history of environmental stewardship – citing their endangered species conservation efforts with the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, themes in such films as Pocahontas, and more, the company also wants to seize any opportunity to strengthen their bond with customers and make their company “a more desirable place to work.”
